→ Writing/Reading
I've had a love of writing for as long as I can remember. Escaping reality for a bit by putting a book in my hands is my favorite thing to do. I write or read something everyday, whether it's a story, poetry, or even writing code.
→ Coding
I've tried to pick up coding many times over the years. It only recently stuck and I'm enjoying it a lot. It can be a bit frustrating when I can't find what I'm looking for and I have to take a step back so I don't break my only laptop.
→ Music
I listen to music quite a lot. Sometimes it helps me focus, other times it distracts me. I've gotten pretty good at being able to tell whether playing music will be more of a hinderence than a help.
→ Boxing
As mentioned above, I do have a tendency to break things when I'm mad. I can't even remember how many devices I've broken over the years due to my anger issues. Boxing is one of my outlets to help with that. I have two punching bags.
→ Meditating
Another thing that helps is meditation. Even on days when I have trouble sitting still. Just taking a moment to breath really helps. It also gives me time to check-in with myself. I used to think that kind of stuff was silly.
→ Video Games
I grew up with many game systems. I'm not sure why we kept buying so many of them, but we had a lot. I had my own wii and a gamecube that I adored. We had playstations and xboxs. Not to mention all the handheld games we had. Nowadays I mostly play on my Xbox One, laptop, or my switch. (I can't afford nintendo online though.) I'll still pull out my gamecube occasionally.
→ Archery
I've gone shooting before but it's not something I can do often. Archery however is something I can do whenever. The property I'm currently living on is pretty big and gives me plenty of room to let arrows soar. I think it was a friend of mine who got me into archery in the first place, but I can't quite remember. (My memory is terrible.)
→ Cars
Studying mechanics was something I wanted to do for a long time. I grew up watching Nascar and Monster Jam, so can you really blame me? Sadly I've been too focused on other things and haven't really had the chance. I try and learn wherever I can though. When I first started driving I absolutely loved it. Then there was an accident and it's caused me to be a bit anxious. Still love driving, just have to make sure I'm actually ready for it. If I'm not in the right headspace i end up getting an anxiety attack instead and that's never fun. As a kid I used to love going for drives so I could fall asleep in the backseat. Who am I kidding, I still do that even as an adult. My insomnia makes it really hard to sleep but I found that I always slept easier in cars as long as I had enough leg room. My favorite car is the Camaro and I'll point them out everytime I see them.
→ Psychology
I tried to take a psychology class in High School but at the time I was being homeschooled online and for some reason they weren't able to put me into the class so I ended up going without. It doesn't stop me from learning as much as I can from books I find. For a while I wanted to be a therapist. I still do sometimes but I doubt I'll ever get there.
→ Creepy Things
Not quite sure where my love of all things creepy came from, though it may have something to do with the fact that I grew up watching Tim Burton movies. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I dream of one day creating my own haunted house so I can scare the living crap out of people. I'm the type that laughs during horror movies. My friends think I'm crazy. I don't blame 'em. I listen to Creepypasta stories before bed and I have a big skull/skeleton collection.
